Unlocking the Secrets of Science is divided into three subseries:


The Inventors

The Inventors subseries features biographies of fifteen inventors of the twentieth century including Robert Jarvik and the First Artificial Heart, Jacques-Yves Cousteau: His Story Under the Sea, and Robert Goddard and the Liquid Rocket Engine.

 

The Scientists

The Scientists subseries profiles fifteen twentieth century scientists, including Jonas Salk and the Polio Vaccine, Albert Einstein and the Theory of Relativity, and Frederick Banting and the Discovery of Insulin.

 

The Pioneers

The Pioneers subseries presents the lives and work of ten people who broke ground in their respective fields. Biographies include Francis Crick and James Watson: Pioneers in DNA Research, Barbara McClintock: Pioneering Geneticist, and William Hewlett: Pioneer of the Computer Age.
